5 Layer Mexican Dip
Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Delimex and this couldn’t be easier 5 Layer Mexican Dip. Have you tried Delimex’s Taquitos yet? If you haven’t you are in for a real taste treat. I paired it my 5 Layer Mexican Dip and happily dipped my taquitos in it. I baked the taquitos for 14 minutes and they got so crispy we loved them. They are perfect for a snack or as an appetizer.
Delimex was started 25 years ago by Oscar Ancira to bring the tastes and flavors of his grandmother’s kitchen to our homes across the US. They even hand make the corn and flour tortillas. They have a product line that includes several varieties of taquitos, rolled tacos and tamales. I tried the tamales also as you can see above and we loved them too!
Are you having a party for Cinco de Mayo? If you are you should check out the frozen food section at Walmart and bring home a few boxes of these delicious taquitos, rolled tacos or tamales. In my store they were in the center aisle freezer cases in between the meats and the frozen foods. Grab the ingredients while you are there for my 5 Layer Mexican Dip.
This dip is so easy to make, you need a can of refried beans, guacamole (I do homemade), salsa, sour cream and cheese. That’s it. Make it in a big dish like I did or for a party it is always fun to do individual ones. I use clear plastic drinking cups and layer the ingredients in the cups. Another favorite thing to do is to have a salsa bar, I know at my house we all like different heat levels so the salsa bar is a great way to make sure everyone gets what they want. If you are having a group of children, buy a pinata for them, that for sure will be something they will talk about for days.
- 1 can refried beans
- 2 cups guacamole
- 2 cups salsa
- 1 pint carton sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- Put the refried beans on the bottom of the dish.
- Top with the guacamole.
- Top with the salsa
- Top with the sour cream
- Top with the shredded cheese.
- Refrigerate until serving time.
For this dish you can buy the guacamole or do as I do and make it. It takes about 10 minutes to make it from scratch. You could also buy it prepared.
- 2 avocados
- 1 tomato diced
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- juice of a lime
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- salt and pepper
- cilanto to taste
- Cut the avocados in half. Cut the avocados into a small dice in the shell. Scoop out with a spoon into a bowl.
- Add the tomato, garlic and onion. Stir until mixed.
- Add the lime juice, cumin and salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Add cilanto to taste. Cover until ready to use.

This looks so good! I love everything in it! I don’t like everything in 7 layer dips so mine usually ends up being only 5 layers. This just looks too good! can’t wait to eat it while watching some football this fall.
