Tuna Pate with Cheez-It Grooves

The big game is almost here! If you’re like me you’re looking for easy recipes that taste great and don’t take a lot of time to make. I am serving this tuna pate with the new Cheez-It Sharp White Cheddar Grooves. Thin, crispy and made with 100% real cheese, Cheez-It Grooves combine the best of Cheez-It and a chip into one delicious snack. They also come in 3 delicious flavors,  Zesty Cheddar Ranch, Original Cheddar and Sharp White Cheddar. They pair perfectly with this Tuna Pate. You’ll score big if you make this appetizer for the big game day!

cheez-it-collage-2You can find the Cheez-It products @Walmart in the snack aisle or right now they are on the end cap displays of that aisle. Cheez-It is dedicated to using only 100% real cheese which is baked into every delicious cracker. Cheez-It has been one of my favorite snacks for years.

I also picked up some Pringles Tortillas! The Tortillas are so crunchy, delicious and full of corn flavor. They also have these Pringles flavors, Original, Sour Cream and Onion, Cheese, Bacon, Cheeseburger and Tortillas. I was excited to see them and knew right away that an easy Taco Dip would be perfect to serve with them. I got some football themed cupcake holders to serve the dip and Tortillas in.

I mixed up a Taco Dip using a cup of sour cream, 4 oz. cream cheese, 2 – 3 tablespoons milk and a tablespoon of Taco Seasoning. Then I put the dip in these little portion control cups so that everyone could have a little cup of dip for their Tortillas Chips. I loved that they are stackable too. You sure can’t do that with other chips. I don’t know about you but I hate putting dip on a plate, it runs all over the place. Serving in these portion control cups works out perfect. You can find these portion cups at a restaurant supply store and some cake decorating stores. Make sure you get the right matching lid. I keep them on hand and once you do you’ll find all kinds of uses for them.

Making the tuna pate couldn’t be easier especially if you have a food processor. You can have this mixed together in a matter of minutes. Then it needs a couple of hours in the refrigerator. Make this ahead of time, it only gets better. If you don’t have a food processor use a fork to really flake the tuna. Then put everything in a mixer bowl and mix until it all comes together. You won’t get quite the same texture but the amazing taste will still be there.

I LOVE Cheese Its! Grumpy and I have both been known to devour a box between the two of us…kind of a dangerous treat for me. lol However, I do have two boxes in my pantry right now. :)

The almonds get blended in, they don’t provide crunch just flavor.
