Ripening Fruits

Sealing fruits like bananas, peaches, pears, tomatoes or avocados inside of a brown paper bag with help ripen fruits sooner. Using a ripe apple will hasten the ripening. The bag traps ethylene gas which is the fruits natural ripening agent and intensifies its effect. Close the bag and let it sit for 2 or 3 days. Don’t leave them too long or they may overripen.
