Cornbread

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups yellow or white cornmeal
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk (can substitute plain yogurt or milk)
Instructions
  1. Combine dry ingredients in medium bowl. Add remaining ingredients and just enough buttermilk for a good pouring consistency.
  2. Grease pan and bake in 425 degree oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until brown on top.
  3. Serve with honey and butter.
